The next big thing on the amateur boxing calender is the 2012 London Olympics. Let's take a look at a few facts and figures regarding the London Olympics.
Venue
Boxing will be held at the ExCeL Exhibition Center in London.
For the very first time in the history of the Olympic games, London is set to be the 1st to hostfemale boxing. For the female boxers, there will be 3 weight divisions
Flyweight - 106-112lbs 48-51kg
Lightweight - 123- 132Ibs 56-60kg
Middleweight - 152- 165Ibs 69-75kg
There will be 286 boxers - 286 (250 men, 36 women)
The boxers will get through 432 pairs of 10 oz boxing gloves
Boxing was first introduced to the Olympics in 1904
